Nili Lotan Archive Sale: 70% off

Here's something I do not take for granted: there are so many truly great options in this annual sale. We've got less than a week to narrow them down (it ends August 1 by my calculations).

Some of the styles come in different fabrics, not just different colors – so make sure the composition is what you expect. I don't see a reason here to include more than 30% synthetic. My picks aren't athletic pieces, they don't have heat-set pleats, and they're not metallic. In other words, I don't see a functional or a a design reason to have a high percentage of synthetics.

Nili Lotan's quality is pretty consistent, and it's appropriate for the design. She tends toward construction that serves the garment and executes it very well. Many of the pieces are on par with Celine but at a lower price range. I will proceed to describe my picks from a baseline of this integrity.

Pants and Shorts

I picked pants whose fabrics checked out an whose cuts appear far from their expiration dates. So I skipped tapered pants and variations on the harem cut.

Tops

Her blouses are great for that 70s YSL-turned-Celine look. I love the silks, love the viscose. The cami is excellent, and I'd make sure to have one ready for one of the more sheer blouses.

The T-shirts look great, but I'd personally go for Cos instead. Yes, her Ts are more refined than Cos, but, no, I personally don't think it's worth it. Save up for a blouse!

Blazers and Coats

The blazers add immeasurable, effortless cool and polish. They're worth their full prices. The coat I picked is gorgeous, just know it's not a winter-weight fabric.

Evening

Evening pieces come with prices we may not want to see at daylight, so it's natural we'd want them to look current for longer than a season. But it's not simple to find occasionwear that's got this longevity.

My picks are part of fashion's historic iconography, and they're beautifully made. An asymmetric maxi gown isn't tied to a big 2024 trend, so it's not going to be out of style anytime soon. It could have been vintage, but it's here, perhaps in your size.

Sequin pants are what you wear to your own dinner, to an art event (maybe with a T-shirt), or anywhere that's got a creative black tie. Someone is going to make them her signature piece, and I am here for it.
